Polaris to close Wisconsin plant

Polaris Industries Inc. is shutting down a manufacturing plant in Osceola, Wis.
A spokesperson for the manufacturer of snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles confirmed the closure, but declined to provide further details until a press release is issued at 5:30 p.m.
The County Messenger newspaper reported that Polaris (NYSE:PII) will wind down operations at the plant over the next year and a half.
According to securities filings, Polaris has operated in Osceola since 1991, when the Medina-based company acquired a manufacturing facility there to make component parts. It now operates two facilities with a total of 285,000 square feet.
Operations such as engine assembly, seat manufacturing, drivetrain and exhaust assembly are conducted in Osceola.
